World Internet Challange
Posted on November 25th, 2007 by Seb Brown
The World Internet Challenge was carried out by Shaune Clarke over the four days. The challenge was to make money on the internet over the four days of the summit. He set up a blog, Grapevine Guru to help promote interviews with wine experts he was selling. This would then lead onto a membership site.
We were shown the whole process and given updates over the four days. It really was a useful exercise. Quite a number of the other delegates I spoke to over the weekend were going to copy the process themselves to promote there own products.

It was a great Internet Marketing sales model that Shaune Clarke demonstrated, though I have to say that it wasn’t entirely accurate in how he described it …
… if you go through the checkout on the grapevineguru site, you’ll see that instead of charging $47 one-time fee with 3 months free membership to the “club”, the customer is automatically charged $47 per month with one month deferred (i.e. only 1 month free).
Having said that, I saw an early version (the day after the World Internet Summit finished) and he may have changed it since. But it just goes to show “leap and grow wings on the way down” … it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just needs to get going
I only remember there being two months free. So if the one time offer payment of $47 was deferred by one month it would go like this: Month one free, month two $47 for one time offer, Month three $47 for monthly membership site etc. etc.

Hiya
Joining this discussion a bit late… but never mind.
I, too, was at the Summit and I found the whole event fantastic. I particularly enjoyed Shaune’s challenge, mainly because the model he used for the business he presented was very similar to what I had/have planned for my own cooking membership site. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to study it as I would have liked.
I remember Shaune had it set up so that the main domain pointed to the blog which included a squeeze page. Signing up led to the OTO and eventually the home page and all his back-end content. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a note of the URL of the content site and, for reasons I’ve not been able to establish, I don’t see a squeeze page on the blog… so I see no way of getting at his offer or content.
Since you guys are discussing the offer you’ve clearly been able to access the sign-up form. Can you tell me where I can find the form please?
Also, Seb… during the summit, I registered for your ‘Build a List With Ebay’ e-book from another address which I no longer have access to. Is the book ready yet? Do I need to register again to get more info?
I’d appreciate hearing from you. You can e-mail me on the address above if you don’t want to have this discussion on your blog.
